1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on the user's device while browsing. Equivalent technologies (local storage, session storage) may be used for the same purposes and are treated here as cookies.
2. Cookies used on perlegis.ai
On this site we use:
- strictly necessary technical cookies, to remember your consent choices (cc_cookie, six months);
- third-party security cookies set by the anti-abuse verification widget in the contact form, needed to tell a real visitor from an automated request;
- analytics cookies, exclusively with your consent: an anonymous device and session identifier (ph_*, twelve months), used to count visits and to see which pages are read and which elements are clicked. If you choose “Necessary only”, no analytics cookie is set and the analytics script is not even downloaded.
For analytics we use PostHog (PostHog, Inc.), configured on the provider's European infrastructure: browsing data is collected and stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The browser's requests pass through an address on this same site before reaching the provider; that does not change where the data is stored. We build no profiles linked to an identity, and whatever is typed into form fields is masked before it is sent.
We set no advertising or profiling cookies, first- or third-party.
3. Session recording
On the basis of the same analytics consent, PostHog records an anonymous reconstruction of browsing on the public pages of perlegis.ai: pointer movements, clicks, scrolling and moves from one page to the next, together with page load timings and any technical messages from the browser. It serves to show where the site is unclear. Everything typed into form fields is masked: the recording does not contain the name, email address or message entered in the contact form. Recordings are kept by the provider for thirty days and then deleted. If you choose “Necessary only” no recording starts; if you withdraw consent, the one in progress stops.
4. Cookies in the application
The application at app.perlegis.ai uses technical cookies and storage required to keep the authenticated session and the user's preferences. They are essential to the service, require no consent and include no analytics tool.
The one exception, and only if you choose to start it, is the introductory video the application offers at first sign-in. The video is hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) and embedded in the player's privacy-enhanced mode: until you press play the application does not contact YouTube and nothing is stored on your device on its behalf. When you start it, your browser connects to YouTube, which receives your IP address, technical browser data and the application's address, and may store its own cookies or storage data on your device. These are third-party tools, managed by Google as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: the Controller has no control over their content or lifetime.
5. Legal basis
For technical and security cookies the legal basis is performance of the service requested by the user and the Controller's legitimate interest in protecting the platform from abuse (Art. 6.1.f GDPR). For analytics cookies and session recording the legal basis is exclusively consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), collected through the banner before any analytics cookie is set and revocable at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out. For the YouTube video in the application the legal basis is consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you give by starting playback after the notice shown below the video frame; if you do not start it, nothing reaches YouTube.
6. Managing preferences
On your first visit the banner lets you accept everything, accept only the necessary cookies, or customise your choice. You can review or withdraw consent at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer: on withdrawal the analytics cookies are deleted and collection stops. You can also manage cookies from your browser settings; disabling the technical ones may break the site and the application.
7. Duration
Cookies may be session cookies, deleted when the browser closes, or persistent, with the lifetime given in section 2.

This cookie policy may be updated. The version in force is always published on this page.
